முன்னுரை
ப்ரும்ம ஸ்ரீ கே. ஆர். நாராயணன் (ஹரிதாசர்) 1888 இல் கோயல்மன்னம் என்ற கிராமத்தில் (கேரளாவில்) பிறந்தார். 1913 இல் ரங்கூன் சென்று அரசு பணியில் அமர்ந்தார். இசையில் கொண்டிருந்த ஆர்வத்தை வளர்த்துக் கொண்டு மாணவ, மாணவியர்க்கும் இசை கற்றுக் கொடுத்து வந்தார் .
1942 இல் இந்தியாவுக்கு திரும்பிய பின்னர் இசையில் முழு கவனம் செலுத்தியவர் தமிழ், தெலுங்கு, சமஸ்க்ருதம் ஆகிய மொழிகளில் அனேக வர்ணங்களும் கீர்த்தனைகளும் இயற்றி அவற்றை ஸ்வர, தாளக் குறிப்புடன் அமைத்துள்ளார்.
‘ஹரிதா3ஸ’, ‘ஹரிபரந்தாம’ என்ற முத்திரைகளை தனதாக்கிக் கொண்ட இவரது பாடல்கள் சிலவற்றை இந்த பகுதியில் வெளியிடுவதில் மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகின்றோம்.
இவர் எங்கள் தந்தையின் தந்தை என்பதிலும், இவரே எங்கள் முதல் குருநாதர் என்பதிலும் பெருமை அடைகின்றோம்.
இவருடைய மற்ற பாடல்களையும் இன்னொரு இடுகை மூலம் பிரசுரிக்க விழைகின்றோம். தேவி வாணியின் பரிபூரண அருள் இருந்தால் அதுவும் விரைவிலேயே வெளிவரும்.

A few words of Introduction
Brahma Sree K. R. NArayaNan (HaridAsa) was born in 1888 in Kolaymannam a village in Kerala. He took up a Government job in Rangoon in 1913. He further developed his passion for Classical Carnatic music and taught it to his students.
After returning to India in 1942, he was able to devote all his freetime to Music. He composed several Krithis, VarNams and ThillAnas in Tamil, Sanskrit and Telugu. He himself had set the music to all his songs and has written them down with elaborate Swara and ThALa notations.
His mudhras are “HaridhAsa” and “Hari ParanDhAma”. We are happy to post some of his compositions in this blog in both Tamil and their English transliteration.
We feel happy and proud to register here that Sree. K. R. NArAyaNan was our own Paternal Grandfather and the very first guru to us – all the five siblings. He lived with us since my father Dr. K. N. Raman was his eldest son. He has shaped us into what we are today by teaching us Music, Mathematics, Yoga and introducing us to Spirituality.
We humbly offer this work at the lotus feet of DhEvi Sarawathi, seeking Her blessings. We hope to be able to bring out his other compositions in one more blog.
